More of Family, Less of School...

Today I found this message online. Raymond and Dorothy Moore are some of the best authors for homeschooling families. Here is just one of their inspirational thoughts from one of their published books:

"[Homeschooling]...recipe for genius: More of family and less of school, more of parents and less of peers, more creative freedom and less formal lessons."— Raymond S. Moore

From the book _School Can Wait II_ by Raymond S and Dorothy N Moore, 1982

Hmmm, written in 1982 when home-schooling was probably in its infancy. I would agree more with that quote when it was published, and regarding public education, than I would now with the development of home schooling and good charter schools. I believe the balance of family and quality peer relationships, not an imbalance, would be better. And a balance between a healthy home life and wholesome education in all its forms, is better than an anti-social imbalance. But that's just my perspective.
